Travel Gaiwan Set

Travel Gaiwan Set - Main image
$24.4 $34.85 In stock

Category: Teaware

A compact clay gaiwan set designed for gong fu cha brewing at home or on the go. The set includes the gaiwan, two small cups, and a zippered carrying case — everything you need for multiple steepings wherever you are.

Clay gaiwans are favored by serious tea drinkers because the porous material gradually absorbs the oils and aromas of the teas you brew in it, subtly enhancing flavor over time. The more you use it, the better it gets.

How to brew: Add whole leaf tea to the gaiwan, pour hot water, steep for 20–30 seconds, and strain into the cups. Repeat multiple times, adding a few seconds to each subsequent steep.

Available in white, grey, or green.

Set includes: clay gaiwan · 2 cups · zippered carrying case

Ella G. ★★★★★

Took this on a weekend camping trip and the zippered case kept everything from rattling around in my pack. The two cups are the perfect size for sharing a few steepings, and the clay actually seems to soften the tea a bit. Been using it every morning since.

Julian ★★★★★

Took this camping last weekend and the clay gaiwan handled three steepings of oolong without cooling down too fast between pours. The two little cups nest right inside it, so the whole thing takes up less room than my thermos.

Sebastian ★★★★★

The zippered case actually fits in my work bag, so I've been doing quick gong fu sessions at my desk instead of the breakroom tea bags. Both cups are the perfect size for sharing a few steepings with a coworker, and the clay retains heat way better than my old porcelain one.
