I was worried the chocolate would taste artificial, but it blends into the ripe puerh so smoothly it almost drinks like a dessert. The mint shows up more on the finish, which keeps the whole cup from feeling heavy.
The mint here is genuinely cooling rather than candy-like, and it cuts through the deep chocolate notes of the shou puerh really well. I've been brewing it strong on cold mornings and it's smooth enough to drink without any sweetener.
The mint hits first and then the shou puerh comes through with that deep, earthy chocolate note underneath. I do wish the mint lingered a bit longer on the finish, but for a morning cup it's become a regular in my rotation.
