The rose petals add such a gentle floral note that it actually makes the earthy puerh base feel refreshing instead of heavy. Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up when I want something soothing but not too strong.
I usually find ripe puerh too heavy, but this one stays light and drinkable. The floral note softens that musty edge just enough without tasting like perfume. Been having it most afternoons now.
The rose petals do a lot of work here — they soften the fermented edge without hiding it, so you still get that deep puerh base underneath. I've been brewing it in the evenings and the floral note lingers nicely on the second steep.
