The dried plum note sneaks up on you after the first sip, and the smoke stays gentle instead of campfire-heavy. I've been brewing it plain in the afternoons and the molasses sweetness comes through without any sugar.
I was worried the smoke would overpower everything, but it's actually really gentle and lets the molasses sweetness come through. Smooth enough to drink without milk, which I didn't expect from a smoked black tea.
